The fire that God has set in my soul.

In the progress of becoming where I am today. I really would have never thought of how much my soul is on fire for God now. I was in the dark and he brought me into the light. The deepest secrets that I had hidden within inside of me were brought into the light. I don't really care to keep secrets from him anymore. My secrets were hidden so long in a soul that wasn't on fire for God.

God told me to get rid of my boyfriend and he was serious. God told me I have something better for you. I feel now that me not getting rid of my worldly boyfriend sooner I was preventing God's presence in my life. About two weeks after I broke up with my boyfriend, God said you trusted me. I felt God really wanting to be in my life and his presence and love as well. Then I got invited to interns at my church.

The internship was held in my church in Bucerias, La Fuente Riviera. In the intership I didn't know really what to expect and how much effort I was going to be putting into it. The internship was in last July until mid August. He was serious and he put me into the internship. Which I wanted to be in for the last few years. During the internship, I had to share my testimony and that's where all the secrets came out pretty much. At first I was scared to share what happened to me, but everyone has to start somewhere.

I have been going to my church now for about 3 1/2 years. This church has transformed me and the people there care about me. God has put a fire down in my heart there at my church. Of course before a major decision to put you into an internship. The leaders and the pastors there have to see how well you do under pressure, and how strong your faith is.

Also, throughout this fasting I have felt that God has been giving me a fire in my heart. He told me some other great surprise is coming but not sure what it is yet. I am sitting here waiting here on the Lord to guide me.

If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it.

How to be a strong christian in a sinful world like this.

1st. You will need to never be ashamed of your passion and love you have for Jesus in a sinful world like this. Also, you will never need to be ashamed of your faith. The world mocked Jesus and us Christians get mocked by the world now because of our passion, love and our faith. I rather be in the savior's love than to be loved by the world. Actually, there is really no love in this world. It's a dark place where there is sin, temptation, and no love.

2nd. You need to make sure that you spend time alone with God. In prayer and in reading the bible on a daily basis. It doesn't matter how long you're with him on a daily basis. It's just letting God know that your there to spend time with him and to hear from him.

3rd. Tell the devil to flee from you because he will tempt you that he is better than God. When in reality God is way bigger than the devil and the storm you're going through.

4th. Surround yourself with people who love god and not things of this world. Separate yourself from the things of this world. You will find when you do that the those things won't satisfy your soul. The only thing that will satisfy your soul is the love and grace that God has poured upon us.

5th. Let God show you his way because his way is correct and always perfect. His timing is always perfect, and it's not in your time. He does it in his time I found because he waits until we're ready for what we want.

6th. It helps to listen to worship bands and sing with them. My favorite bands are Elevation Worship, Jesus Culture, Hillsong United, Hillsong Live, Hillsong Young and Free. Chris Tomlin, Bethel Live, Citizens, David Crowder Band, Third Day, The Sing Team.

Wait for the Lord, for he is righteous

Wait on the Lord for he is righteous and he knows what is right.

I found waiting on the Lord is difficult and I sometimes become impatient.  I sometimes want to do things my way, but sometimes it's not necessarily the correct way. God wants you to wait on him and wait for his plan and timing. God has the most perfect timing for everything.

Trust in the Lord for he knows what is correct:

The first step to waiting on the lord I found was trusting him and his ways.
A verse that has helped me was in Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Once, I found this I realized that not all my ways are correct and that I should trust him and his understanding.

Humble yourself before the lord for he doesn't like the proud:

In James 4:6 "But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” James 4:10 "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." God wants you to be humble not prideful and he will lift you up.

God's timing takes patience:

Jame 5:7 "Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains." God's coming isn't in your own, so be patient and wait on him.

Hebrews 6:12 : "We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." Be patient and have strength in your faith with your relationship with Jesus. Then, he will give what he has promised you because you were patient.

Romans 12:12 : "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." I found this very useful you can't be all down in the dumps when you are hoping for something. You can't be discouraged in the afflicition because all that does is make you more upset. In prayer you have to remain faithful because if you're not faithful in it, then your not believing in it.

 You'll need courage, while waiting:

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” -God is with you where you go and you don't have to be afraid, be strong and courageous.

Matthew 14:26-28 "When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

I've been waiting on the Lord, he has rewarded me with many blessings.

Jesus is my life, I want to follow him forever. He is amazing, and I will wait for him to direct me according to his purpose.

My Testimony

Saved : August 22, 2010
Baptized : October 29, 2011

The Fear of the Lord, your Lord Jesus Christ.
The fear of the lord is something that not everyone wants to face. The people I know when I talk about God, they feel they won’t be accepted by God because of what they did in the past or what they are doing now. God loves everyone and wants everyone to fear him. In fearing the Lord you will find that people think you are crazy. When in reality you’ll find that you will get further in life because god is helping you with what you are facing. God has given me strength with what I have been facing in my life to be a stronger individual in my faith. In Isaiah 41:13 it says: “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” -God is saying that you don’t have to fight your battle alone, I am here with you. The fear of God works in different ways:

I.                   The fear of god is strong.
It’s strong because it has the power to destroy the wrongs and turn them into blessings. The fear of God is also strong because he has the strength and the will to change and save thee. Verse: In Deuteronomy 28:1-3 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: you will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. Illustration: The fear of god is strong like changing a person that has a medical condition but it doesn't affect them anymore. When I was younger I had epilepsy when I was 13 months old. I had multiple seizures after that until the age of 5 or 6. I have been seizure free for about 13 years and have been off my medication for it for about 3 1/2 years.

II.                The fear of god has a lot of strength.
God’s fear has a lot of strength because half the things that God can do we can’t do.  God’s strength is powerful, lovely, and when you have his strength you will have self-confidence.
Verse: Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Illustration: The strength that the fear of god has is like a drug addict using drugs but with the strength of god it can change everything. I used to smoke marijuana for two years while my parents didn’t obey him, and now I obey him. I am in more of a serious relationship with him and he is my everything :)

III.             The fear of god has a lot of power.

When we fear God we need to realize that our power isn’t strong as god’s is. God has a lot more power than we could ever imagine. Once you feel the strength of God’s power you will realize there is something out there that has a lot more strength and authority. The way the earth is going most people who don’t believe in God and don’t realize that he is much more powerful than themselves. Verse: Joshua 4:23-24: 23 For the Lord your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The Lord your God did to the Jordan what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over. 24 He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.” Illustration: what did God do with Joshua?  The fear of god has a lot of power like an avalanche in the winter of Antarctica.

IV.             The fear of god is the beginning of wisdom.
In fearing of the lord also is the beginning of understanding and wisdom. Fearing the Lord leads to understand, what you never knew. Everybody doesn’t know everything in the world ,especially about God. Over half of the world doesn’t know about god and thinks that he is something totally different than he really is. The people of the world that don’t know Jesus fall way harder than the people who know who he is. Once you understand and learn to fear the Lord you will begin to become wise. People who fear the lord and are wise will gain wisdom and understanding and become wiser. Verse: Proverbs 1:7 : The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Illustration: The fear of the lord brings wisdom like a parent telling their child or children not to get pregnant but some kids don’t listen. The kids that don’t listen to their parents instructions
will fail and lack wisdom.

                                 V. The fear of God, should be the center of your being.

In the fear of God, it should be the center of your being. Fearing the Lord leads to understand, that he needs to be the center of your being at all times. Not everyone knows that he's lives, he became sin, he who knew no sin. To be honest, I've been in and out sometimes with my relationship with Jesus. I just came to realize at 20 years old, I was sexually abused at the age of 8. I went to talk with my father last year, he was not on my side. I exposed something dark, he didn't want to talk about it. He wanted to keep it a secret. Thinking it wasn't a big deal to be honest. I was in complete shock with his response. I thought he would have advocated for me and brought it to the light and came around a different way. He wanted to take his sisters side, instead of his daughters. He wasn't protecting, something that God gifted him to love, protect, and grow in the Lord. He was dark, nothing that I could control, Jesus is in control.
Verse: Ephesians 5:11  Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

Application:  Deuteronomy 6:1-2 These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.
In life you need to obey the lord in all he does because he knows what he is doing. Once you start obeying him you become wiser in life. In my life I found that obeying him was much more rewarding than getting lost in the world which was what happened before I really obeyed him. My parents didn’t follow and obey him, they got lost and so did I.

Conclusion: In fearing the lord it is hard to understand at first. Once you have the words and strength to tell god that you can’t do it alone. He will help you, and once you feel the lord, you will have to make sure you obey him too. My tip for you would be to surrender to him everything you have or what you have gone through.

Just a little about me.

Hi my name is Emily Adams,

I was born in Roseburg, Oregon in October 1995. I live with my parents and my younger sister Layla. I did Ballet and Tap for 6 years, I still do some dance but not as such now. I was in public school throughout my elementary and part of my middle school years. Then in 2009 we moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. My parents thought it would be an awesome idea because they have been coming the last 12 or 13 years.

I didn't know at first what was going to happen. I didn't really care to live here and speak Spanish. My parents put me into a private school because it was a bilingual school. From there I moved into a home school or online school to do my high school. My education is really important to me.

Now I have been here for over 4 and half years. I speak Spanish and I love being here. I call Mexico home and I love going to the beach. I am senior in high school and I am going to finish it in about 2 months. I love the people here and I plan on staying here. It's a beautiful country, other people say like wise.

I go to a church here in Mexico. It's a christian church and it's amazing.  It's called La Fuente Riviera, it's a bilingual church. God is good all the time. http://www.lafuenteriviera.com/

I love meeting new people. You can send me a message, if you want to get to know me more :)
